Yamaha is celebrating 60 years of motorcycle creation, development and manufacturing in this year. To celebrate its anniversary, the Company has recently launched the 2016-spec 60th Anniversary Special Edition of its YZF-R1, which was first introduced to the world in November 2014.
The 2016 Yamaha YZF-R1 60th Anniversary Edition features the Japanese company’s iconic Yellow/Black colour scheme with retro, famous speedblock graphics, and is fitted with an Akrapovic slip-on exhaust. Other highlight features include Traction Control/Slide Control, Racing ABS/Unified Brake System, Highly advanced electronic control systems, magnesium wheels and aluminium fuel tank, TFT LCD instruments, One-click adjustable riding modes, and so on.
In Europe, the 2016 Yamaha YZF-R1 60th Anniversary Edition will be available from Yamaha dealers in December. No word from Yamaha Motor Corporation USA if the special edition will hit US dealerships. Yamaha also announced that the 2016 model year of the Yamaha R1 will also be available in Race Blu and Racing Red. There are also new 2016 colors and graphics for the R6, R3 and R125 models.
