Honda celebrated the 55th anniversary of its Super Cub C100 by unveiling the special edition of the cub, which was first introduced in 1958. It is called the 55th anniversary Honda Little Cub.
The 55th anniversary Honda Little Cub is based on the regular Little Cub. It is powered by an air-cooled, fuel-injected, four-stroke 49cc engine mated to a four-speed transmission, producing 3.4 hp at 7000 rpm and 2.8 ft-lb. at 5000 rpm. The Little Cub is equipped with leading-link fork and twin rear shocks, 14-inch wheels, and has a 0.9-gallon fuel tank which delivers 239 miles of range on a single refueling.
Production of the 2014 Honda Little Cub 55th Anniversary Edition is limited to 1,500 units. It will be available in either black or Fighting Red colors. Both red and blackversions comes with red rims, chrome side covers, black hubs, commemorative decals along with a grid pattern on the base of the seats.
The 2014 55th anniversary Honda Little Cub will only be available in Japan, and it costs ¥249,900 (US$2,519), compared to ¥210,000 for the original Little Cub.
