The new track-focused Fireblade SP version is powered by a 999.8cc 16-valve inline four-cylinder engine with the same updated cylinder head and intake tract as the standard 2014 CBR1000RR Fireblade, with a new exhaust system and revised PGM-DSFI settings that add 2kW additional power and improved mid-range torque. Honda claim thes SP delivers 178 hp and 85lbft of torque.

The standard 2014 Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade uses 43mm inverted Showa Big Piston Forks and rear shock, while the 2014 SP version comes equipped with 43mm Öhlins NIX30 inverted fork and MotoGP-derived Unit Pro-Link Öhlins TTX36 rear shock, all of which with spring preload, rebound, and compression damping. The bike’s die-cast aluminium twin-spar frame receives some modifications to match the Öhlins suspension. The 2014 Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade SP also adds Brembo four-piston mono block calipers that grips 320mm dual floating discs, CNC-machined top yoke, factory-matched pistons and con-rods, as well as  a steering stem made of steel rather than aluminium.

The riding position of the bike has been slightly altered with revised foot-peg positions and handlebar. As on the regular CBR1000RR, the CBR1000RR Fireblade SP has a dash that features four display modes. Combined Anti-lock Brake System is available on both standard and SP models (Unfortunately, America will only be getting a non-ABS version of the 2014 Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade SP).

The 2014 Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade SP is distinguished from the regular model by its tricolor paint schemes – white and two-tone blue with a red stripe and the Honda gold wheels. Pricing hasn’t been confirmed, but the 2014 Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade SP is set to hit dealerships in early 2014.

A range of factory accessories are available, including a painted carbonfibre hugger for protecting the rear shock, carbonfibre crankcase covers, carbonfibre front mudguard, black-tinted high windscreen which 27mm higher than stock, maintenance stand, tank bag, a fairing scuff guard set, wheel sticker set, and battery optimizer.
