Here’s meet the Big Bad Wolf, the newest bike from Yamaha’s Yard Built program. Yamaha has teamed up with Spanish custom house El Solitario to create the beast ‘Big Bad Wolf’, celebrating 20 years of the iconic street machine.
The Spanish custom builder who unfamiliar with 4 cylinder bikes took the challenge and turned the XJR1300 into the entirely-custom-made ‘Big Bad Wolf’. El Solitario keeps the frame, tank, handlebars and the rear light, stay original, and almost everything else on the bike is custom made, reducing the wet weight from 245Kg to just 183kg.
With a custom-tuned engine, reinforced titanium bolts and a rebalanced crankshaft, plus replacing the electronics and adding state of the art Lectron 42 carburetors, as well as installing a Dynatek Programmable Ignition, the XJR1300 now has a total output of 148 hp at the rear wheel.
Other custom-features such as carbonfibre tail section, aluminum brackets, motor air rams and the belly pan, carbonfibre wheels, suspension, fuel tank, a custom aluminum swing arm, custom titanium exhaust, custom semi circular oil cooler and EMD and so on were supplied and developed by Classic Co., UK based Dymag, K-Tech Suspension, Novatech, Asahina Racing, Taleo Racing, TWM, Over Racing, Corona, and PIAA. While the Yamaha XJR1300 Big Bad Wolf‘s stunning custom graphics and paint was the work of London artist Death Spray Custom.
