Kawasaki has presented the 2012 Kawasaki Versys 1000 at EICMA 2011. This new adventure sport motorcylce is a bigger and badder version of the original Kawasaki Versys. “Versys” is a contraction of “Versatile System.”
2012 Kawasaki Versys 1000 is powered by 1043cc, liquid-cooled In-line Four-cylinder mill found in the Z1000 and Ninja 1000, tuned for better low and mid-range with a slightly reduced peak power. The engine comes with a bore and stroke of 77.0 x 56.0 mm. Kawasaki claims 116 horsepower and 75 ft.-lbs. of torque at 7700 rpm.
2012 Kawasaki Versys 1000 comes with two Power Mode selections, Full or Low modes, allows riders to set power based on riding preference and road conditions. Thi bike also comes equipped with ABS and Kawasaki’s S-KTRC traction-control system which has three modes. The ABS is a safe and effective braking system, while the S-KTRC traction-control system is also a safety features that have a function to keep the Versys’ newfound power under control.
Other features include long-travel suspension, new inverted 43mm KYB fork, 17-inch six-spoke wheels that are wrapped in Pirelli Scorpion Trail tires, a big rider-adjustable windscreen, a large 5.5 gallon tank, spacious luggage rack, passenger seat as well as grab-handles.
There’s no words from Kawasaki USA if the 2012 Kawasaki Versys 1000 will be available in USA or not.
