Kawasaki has updated its sports-touring bike for 2015, the Kawasaki Versys 1000. Unveiled last month at the 2014 Intermot show in Cologne, Germany, the 2015 Kawasaki Versys 1000 receives numeros updated inside and outside.
For power, the 2015 Kawasaki Versys 1000 sports a Z1000-based 1043cc liquid-cooled, DOHC inline-four engine with Denso’s 12-hole fine-atomizing injectors and stick-type ignition coils with reversed coils. The engine also gets revised ignition timing and two new rubber engine mounts that eliminate excess vibration.
The suspension has been improved and the chassis also has been reinforced to support extra luggage that available as optional feature. The 2015 Versys 1000 gets a 43mm USD fork and horizontally mounted rear monoshock with remote preload adjuster, and now sits on all-new 17-inch wheels that are wrapped in Bridgestone T30 sport touring tires.
Other new and updated features for the 2015 Kawasaki Versys 1000 include new Assist and Slipper Clutch that come with an assist cam and slipper cam, bigger brake front discs with 4-piston calipers and updated ABS, LED fog lamps, hand guards, three-mode KTRC traction control, power modes, gear position indicator, a new center stand, new fairings and a new screen (adjustable from 30mm to 65mm).
In Europe, the 2015 Kawasaki Versys 1000 will be available in three color options: Candy Burnt Orange / Metallic Spark Black, Flat Ebony / Metallic Spark Black and Pearl Stardust White / Metallic Spark Black. No word on its pricing and availability.
Kawasaki USA also has recently unveiled the 2015 model year ot the Kawasaki Versys 1000 LT at the AIMExpo show in Orlando, Florida. The Kawasaki Versys 1000 LT will go on sale this November, available in Flat Ebony/Metallic Spark Black and Candy Burnt Orange/Metallic Spark Black.
