2014 Piaggio Fly 150 3V and 50 4V Hitting US Dealerships

The all-new 2014 Piaggio Fly 150 3V and Fly 50 4V scooters are now available in the U.S. for $2,899 and $2,199, respectively. Both models are available in Graphic Black or Pearl White.

The 2014 Piaggio Fly 150 3V is powered by Piaggio‘s new 3-valve (two intake, one exhaust) engine, which is the most powerful and fuel-efficient 150cc engines available on the market. Furthermore, the new powerplant which originally introduced in the Vespa 946 concept at the 2011 EICMA also has lower maintenance costs than previous engines. The Fly 150 3V is claimed has a fuel economy of 104 mpg with service intervals at 6,000 miles.

The new 150cc 4-stroke, 3-valve engine delivers more power than the two-valve engine in the 2013 Piaggio Fly 150. The new engine has an output of 12.1 hp at 7000 rpm and 9.6 ft-lb. at 6000 rpm, while the 2013’s engine only produces 11.6 hp at 7750 rpm and 8.5 ft-lb. at 6000 rpm. Claimed top speed is 61 mph.

The 2014 Piaggio Fly 50 4V is equipped with a 49cc four-valve engine that boasts great performance in the 50cc market. It produces 4.6 hp at 9500 rpm and 2.8 ft-lb. at 8000 rpm, with claimed fuel economy is 117 mpg.

Both scooters come with new Italian design, large ergonomic seat for two-up riding with a huge storage under it for two open-faced helmets. They have a seat height of just 29.9-inch and feature 32mm telescopic forks at front and 73mm single rear shock equipped with 220mm disc brake with dual-piston floating caliper and 140mm drum brake, respectively. The Fly 150 3V has a 1.8-gallon fuel tank while the 50 4V has only a 1.7-gallon tank. The fuel tanks are placed below the footrest.
