The 2012 Aprilia Tuono V4R is a naked sports bike capable of dominating any road with its indomitable performance and with the most advanced active safety features in the segment.
Called Tuono, which means Thunder in Italian, this bike is powered by 999.6 cc 65° V4 engine with 4 valves per cylinder operated directly by a camshaft driven by a mixed chain/gear system, is mated to 6-speed direct-control cassette type gearbox, delivering 167.3 hp at 11,500 rpm and 111.5 Nm at 9,500 rpm of torque.
It also offers three engine maps which can be swapped out via ignition switch on the right side switch gear, including Track (T) no compromise, Sport (S) maximum fun on the open road, and Road (R) usability in all conditions.
The 2012 Aprilia Tuono V4R previews the perfect balance between formal beauty and function. It has two polyelliptical headlights and LED indicators at the sharp end, unique construction technology of the frame and swingarm, Brembo’s brake system with radial callipers and 320 mm floating discs at the front (220 mm at the rear), aluminium wheels with a three spoke design, fully adjustable Sachs upside down front fork with 43 mm stanchions, and Sachs shock absorber with separate piggy back nitrogen canister, and so on. The 190/55 tyre fitted as standard on the 2012 Aprilia Tuono V4R, but the 200/55 or a 190/50 tyr are available as option.
