2015 Ducati Multistrada 1200

Ducati has unveiled the 2015 model year of the Ducati Multistrada 1200. For 2015, the Multistrada 1200 receives the latest Ducati Testastretta 1198 V-twin DVT engine that features a variable timing with independent control on both the intake and exhaust camshafts, helping to optimize engine performance throughout the engine’s rev range.

The new Testastretta DVT engine in the 2015 Ducati Multistrada 1200 has a claimed output of 160 hp at 9500 rpm and 100.31 lb-ft torque at 7500 rpm, with 8% lower fuel consumption compared to the previous model.

Like the new Panigale 1299, the Multistrada 1200 now also feature the Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) that “dynamically measures roll, yaw and pitch angles as well as the rate of their change”, allowing the ABS system to be upgraded to have a cornering function (the Multistrada 1200 is equipped with the latest Bosch Cornering ABS). On the 2015 Ducati Multistrada 1200 S version, the IMU manages the semi-active Ducati Skyhook Suspension (DSS) Evolution system.

All the Multistrada models feature 17-inch wheels wrapped in the latest Pirelli Scorpion Trail II tire in 120/70-16 front and 190/55-17 rear sizes, electronic cruise control, four riding modes, Ride-by-Wire Power Modes, Ducati Wheelie Control, Ducati Traction Control, and height-adjustable seat.

Besides the Ducati Skyhook Suspension, the S version also has a larger front brake discs compared to the standard model, and it also features lightweight machine-finished forged wheels, a full LED headlamp with Ducati Cornering Lights (DCL), a full colour 5-inch TFT display with Bluetooth module to a Ducati Multimedia System.

In Europe, Ducati will continue to offer the Multistrada S D/Air variant, which is equipped with a wireless connection to the airbag-equipped Ducati Apparel D/Air riding clothing by Dainese.

All 2015 Multistrada 1200 bikes are available in Ducati Red, and the S model (except the D/Air) is also can be had in Iceberg White.
