The 2015 MV Agusta Dragster 800 RR or the 2015 Agusta Brutale Dragster 800 RR has made its public debut at the 72nd edition of EICMA-Motorcycle Exhibition 2014 that kicked off today. The 2015 MV Agusta Dragster 800 RR is available in two color options: Pearl Shock Red with Pearl Ice White or Pearl Shock Red with Carbon Metallic Black. In Europe, the Dragster 800 RR is offered for €16,290, about €3,200 more expensive than the regular Dragster 800. US pricing hasn’t been announced yet.
Like the reguler 2015 Dragster 800, the 2015 MV Agusta Dragster 800 RR is powered by the same 798cc three-cylinder engine but has a claimed 138 hp at 13,100 rpm, and 63.4 ft-lb. of torque at 10,100 rpm, compared to 123.4 hp at 11,600 rpm and 59.7 lb-t at 8,600 rpm (at lower revs) for the non-RR model. The performance upgrade comes courtesy of a fully redesigned airbox an optimised, more efficient exhaust system, plus the fuel injection also now has been equipped with an advanced six-injector system.
Furthermore, the 2015 Dragster 800 RR comes with a reshaped 4.4-gallon fuel tank interior now and its engine also has a new hydraulic chain tensioner that “makes the engine both quieter and more reliable”.
The 2015 MV Agusta Dragster 800 RR highlight features include the second-generation MVICS (Motor & Vehicle Integrated Control System) electronics platform that has an Eldor EM2.0 engine control and offers ride-by-wire throttle control, as well as 8-level traction control and a new second-generation quickshifter. The engine is linked to a cassette-type 6-speed gearbox that is actuated by a new slipper clutch that allows both clutchless up and down, and it comes with four mappings: Sport, Normal and Rain, plus a custom mode can be set by the rider. Top speed is estimated at 153 mph. There are A Bosch 9 Plus anti-lock braking system as standard feature and anti-stoppie measures.
Other features include a steel tube trellis frame, Brembo brakes, a fully-adjustable 43mm Marzocchi upside-down fork and a Sachs progressive single shock with adjustable rebound and compression damping and spring preload, a 31.9-inch seat height, and digital display.
The 2015 MV Agusta Dragster 800 RR is distinguished from its non-RR model by an adjustable CRC steering damper, a claimed dry weight of 370.4 pounds, spoked 17-inch wheels available in black or white – depends on what scheme you choose.
