MV Agusta has finally revealed the official specs and video of its newest 800cc naked bike, the 2014 MV Agusta Brutale 800 Dragster. According to MV Agusta, “the new Brutale 800 Dragster takes the very concept of ‘motorcycling passion’ and makes it breathtakingly tangible, it embodies both experience and intuition, symbolising motorcycling past, present and forever”
Packing a powerful punch, the 2014 Brutale 800 Dragster is powered by the same naturally-aspirated 798cc Triple engine as the standard Brutale 800, providing 125 Hp (92 kW) at 11,600 rpm (limiter at 13,000rpm) and 60 pound-feet of torque of torque at 8,600 rpm. The engine is linked to a 6-speed gearbox.Just like the rest of the Triple line, the 2014 Brutale 800 Dragster is equipped with new MVICS (Motor&Vehicle Integrated Control) injection-ignition system which features the Eldor EM2.0 engine control unit and a Mikuni Full Ride-By-Wire throttle body. The MVICS allows the rider to choose between three different ride modes (Sport, Normal, Rain) and a fourth ride mode which the rider can configure. Eight-level traction control (which can be disengaged) is also included.
The frame configuration of the new Dragster is taken from the standard Brutale. It shares the same 54.3-inch wheelbase, as well as features an ALS tubular steel load-bearing structure supplemented by lightweight aluminium alloy plates, and a 43mm Marzocchi fork sits up front which offers 125 mm of travel and the Sachs rear shock (All adjustable for rebound, compression, and preload).
At 31.9-inch, the saddle height of Dragster is a smidge higher than the standard Brutale and its aluminium-alloy 17-inch wheels are wrapped in Pirelli DIABLO Rosso II tires (120/70 – ZR 17 front, 200/50 – ZR 17 rear). Dry weight is 368 lb. Furthermore, the Brutale 800 Dragster is sportier than the standard Brutale 800 in the handling.
Breaking duties handled by Brembo brakes (320 mm floating front discs with 4-piston callipers up front and 220 mm steel disc with 2-piston callipers at rear), complete with programmable ABS as standard feature.
The 2014 MV Agusta Brutale 800 Dragster will retail in the United States for $14,798, with color choices are white or matte metallic gray.
