2014 Hero RNT 150 Turbo Direct Injection Diesel Concept

At the 2013 Auto Expo in New Delhi, Hero MotoCorp has revealed the RNT hybrid turbo-diesel-electric motorcycle. The Hero RNT 150 is a scooter concept powered by a 150cc turbocharged direct injection diesel engine.

Its liquid-cooled TDI engine delivers 13.5 hp at 4000 rpm and 25.8 ft-lb. of torque at just 1600 rpm. The RNT 150 scooter also comes with an optional turbocharger and an optional electric motor in the front wheel hub providing 1.3 Hp. The optional electric hub-mounted motor works independently and is operated by a secondary throttle control, giving the scooter two-wheel drive.

The RNT 150 has a top speed of 70 kph, which can translate to to about 43.5 mph. The engine also acts as a portable power source, since it can output 1500 W of 230 V (6.5 A at 230V) electrical power continuously.

The Hero RNT 150 scooter concept has long flat loading surfaces front and rear that can be used to carry carg, plus a number of mounting handlesfor ploughs and harvesters.

Other features include an LED headlight, a removable secondary LED headlight that can serve as a portable and powerful light source, 17-inch wheels, 37mm telescopic fork, adjustable rear shock, a 1.6-gallon tank. The RNT 150 TDI has a wet weight of 300 pounds.
