The motorcycle pictured above is the 620cc streetfighter concept, called the Hastur, from Hero Motocorp. It was revealed last month at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo in Greater Noida, near New Delhi.
The Hero Hastur concept is powered by a parallel twin 620cc engine, which is a load-bearing element and features a special patented performance head with counter rotating crankshaft and cassette gearbox. The engine which was developed with the help of engineers U.S. companies EBR (Erik Buell Racing) delivers 78.9 hp at 8000 rpm and 53.1 ft-lb. at 7750 rpm. The Hastur weighs only 352.7 pounds. It accelerates from 0-62 mph in 3.8 seconds before reaching a top speed of 149 mph. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed transmission.
Besides powerful engine, the Hero Hastur is also very well-constructed motorcycle with an aggressive and modern street-fighter styling. Its engine has been kept very compact and serves as a member of the chassis which consists of a bright yellow steel trellis frame and an aluminum subframe that supports the seat and tail.
Other features include Controlled Swirl Injection (CSI), an adjustable 43mm upside-down fork, cast aluminum wheels wrapped in the Diablo Rosso II tires, dual four-piston calipers up front and a single-piston caliper at the rear, a TFT speedometer, 4-gallon fuel tank, underslung exhaust, bar-end mirrors, as well as twin projector beam headlights with LED running lights, LED turn signals and LED taillight.
The Hero Hastur streetfighter is currently classified as a concept.
