Started from 8th on the grid, the Doctor Valentino Rossi took a breathtaking win with his best overtaking manoeuvres in the opening race of the 2015 MotoGP season in Qatar. He battled it out with Ducati GP15’s Andrea Dovizioso, who claimed pole position for the Qatar Grand Prix season, over the final laps and finally won the race.
“This was my best battle ever!” said the 36-year-old Rossi. Movistar Yamaha’s MotoGP rider also added “The bike was fantastic, I never gave up but it was a real fight with the Ducatis and the Hondas who were really strong”. It was the 83rd MotoGP win of his career.
The next MotoGP schedule takes place at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, on April 12.
