The 2014 KTM 1290 Super Duke R has been finally, officially revealed. Let’s see what it can do.

Described as the Beast, the all-new 2014 KTM 1290 Super Duke R is powered by an outstanding 1.3-litre 4-stroke, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected 75-degree V-Twin engine with a huge 108 x 71mm bore and stroke, producing 180 Hp at 8,870 rpm and 106 pound feet of torque. KTM claims it can accelerate from 0-124 mph in just 7.2 seconds with low fuel consumtion and 15000 km service interval. With the result, we can say that the 1290 Super Duke R looks to be the fastest and most powerful naked bike in the universe.

With an amazing performance as mentioned above, the 2014 KTM 1290 Super Duke R needs good brakes. That’s why the beast has been fitted with Brembo M50 monoblock calipers and 320 mm brake discs assisted in the event of an emergency stop by Bosch ABS.

For chassis, the 2014 KTM 1290 Super Duke R has the lighweight CroMo steal tabular space frame, the single-sided swingarm and it features 50 mm rear axle and eccentric adjustment, as well as a 48mm WP USD fork and a WP rear shock. The naked bike sits on low-pressure die-cast alloy wheels wrapped in super-grippy Dunlop Sportsmart tires.

Other features include an 18-litre fuel tank, an 835mm seat height, an optimised Keihin ride-by-wire throttle, an advanced traction control system which can be adjusted between Sport, Rain, and Supermoto mode. The 2014 KTM 1290 Super Duke R weighs 417 pounds (dry).
