Along with the announcement of the updated 2013 Yamaha FZ8, Yamaha also announced that its “Supersport Touring” motorcycle, the FJR1300A, has received a number of updates for 2013, including electronic, suspension/chassis upgrades, and styling enhancements.
Electronic upgrades on the 2013 Yamaha FJR1300A includes Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle (YCC-T), Traction Control (TCS) and D-Mode (Sport and Touring modes). According to Yamaha, “all these technologies work in unison with an all new Cruise Control system to ensure an inspired ride.” The sports-tourer also features a push-button cruise control, which is located on the left handlebar.
The the FJR1300A’s chassis and suspension upgrades include new fork and swingarm designs, standard equipment with Unified Braking System w/ABS, along with bodywork that features an air-management system.
Visually, the 2013 Yamaha FJR1300A comes with a new throttle body design, the upper cowl, side panels, a new LED front-turn signal/position lights and a redesigned instrument with a three-part reading panel. Other features include three-position adjustable handlebars, a pushbutton-adjustable windscreen that faster to operate, and two-position adjustable rider seat.
The 2013 Yamaha FJR1300A is still powered by a 1.3-litre, DOHC, 16-valve, liquid-cooled inline-four engine. Available in one color – Stone Grey, the 2013 Yamaha FJR1300A will hit dealers this month and the MSRP is $15,890.
