2012 KTM 990 Supermoto R, “the most radical twin-cylinder Supermoto on the market,” now gets Bosch 9M+-ABS. Dynamic, powerful, and extremely comfortable, the new 990 SM R is powered by 114bhp fuel-injected liquid-cooled 999cc V-twin engine along with a perfectly balanced chassis.
With an updated anti-lock braking system, the bike is now safer than its predecessor. Twin floating 305mm brake discs up front with radial-mount four-piston calipers. The Bosch 9M+-ABS intervenes in borderline cases to prevent the front wheel from blocking or a nose-over and the switchable dual-circuit ABS system developed in cooperation with Bosch offers total protection against over-braking.
The 2012 KTM 990 Supermoto R’s tubular space frame made of chrome-molybdenum steel tubing with a bolted-on, light alloy subframe only weighs 9.5 kg. Rider also can adjust the chassis to suit riding style, track and load, thanks to the upside-down telescopic fork and the directly connected shock absorber from WP Suspension- WP 4860 ROMA USD front fork (160mm travel), WP 4618 BAVP DCC monoshock (180mm travel).
