Indian manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp has unveiled its new hybrid concept scooter called the Leap at the 2012 Auto Expo in New Delhi.
This first hybrid scooter concept in India has ability to runs both on petrol and electric power. Its gasoline engine acting as a range extender, charging the battery and supplying power when the battery goes below a certain level. According to the Company, the Leap Hybrid Scooter is one of the most fuel efficient scooters in India, with its fuel economy of up to 100 km/l (235 mpg).
According to the guys over at Indian Cars Bikes, Hero has applied for three international technology patents and nine design registrations for its Leap hybrid concept.
There’s no word on features and specifications at the moment.
