Spanish motorcycle manufacturer Montesa has teamed up with Honda to create some of the best trials bikes in the world. One of their creation is called the 2014 Cota 4RT Repsol Edition, a new competition-ready machine featuring a 4-stroke Single Honda 260cc engine with an electronic fuel injection and a revolutionary decompression system that reduces engine braking, making it resemble the free-wheeling effect of a 2-stroke.
Its 260cc, 4-stroke Single engine is linked to a quick-shifting five-speed transmission which affords power delivery to the rear wheel. The 2014 Montesa Honda Cota 4RT Repsol Edition also comes equipped with a 39 mm Showa cartridge-type telescopic front fork with 6.9 inches of travel and preload, compression and rebound adjustment capability, while at the back, the trials bike uses a Pro-Link Showa damper with preload and rebound adjustments that travels over 6.7 inches. Breaking duties are handled by a single 185mm hydraulic disc gripped by a 4-piston Braktec caliper in the front and a 150mm hydraulic disc and two-piston caliper at the rear.
The bodywork is constructed of the refined aluminum frame and swingarm, along with carbon-fiber elements. The Montesa Honda Cota 4RT Repsol Edition also features a 21-inch Michelin front and 18-inch Michelin rear tire that are designed to provide exceptional off-road traction.
The Cota 4RT Repsol Edition is painted in the Repsol Race Replica livery (Orange/White/Red). It will have a limited run in the states and will be available in April with MSRP is listed at $8,999.
