Aprilia has taken the wraps off its 2014 Aprilia RSV4 R ABS and RSV4 Factory ABS at the 2013 EICMA show earlier this month. The two models receive updated engine and brake system.
The 65° V4 engine of the 2014 RSV4 models now has an output of 184 horsepower and a maximum torque of 117Nm, thanks to its redesigned exhaust system and a new electronic management system. Breaking duties now are handled by new Brembo monobloc M430 radial-mount brake calipers at the front, with the rear brake caliper has been replaced. The ABS system now uses Bosch 9MP multi-map 3-level, which each level can combined with any of the engine maps including Track, Sport and Road.
Both 2014 Aprilia RSV4 R ABS and RSV4 Factory ABS come equipped with a further developed and refined Aprilia’s self-calibrating APRC (Aprilia Performance Ride Control) package which consist of an 8-level traction control system, an electronic quick shift system, 3-level wheelie control system, and launch control system with three settings. Furhtermore, the bikes also get modified side panels and new, larger fuel tank with capacity increased from 17 to 18.5 litres for improved ergonomics seating position.
Visually, the 2014 models are distinguished by redesigned front fender and a new satin finish on the base of the silencer and headlight. The 2014 Aprilia RSV4 R ABS is available in Black Matt and a new Formula Red, while the 2014 Aprilia RSV4 Factory ABS is offered in Black Absolute only. Prices have not been announced yet.
