The Kawasaki ZX-14R hyperbike is back for 2014, and now it features a slipper clutch, a three-mode KTRC traction control system, and an optional ABS.
The 2014 Kawasaki ZX-14R also gets new 10-spoke alloy wheels which are 3lbs lighter than the ones on the 2013 Kawasaki ZX-14R model, an aluminium monocoque chassis which has been revised more than 50% and offering a narrower profile, reprogrammed ECU, and longer swing arm. Suspension settings have been tweaked as well for a comfortable ride without sacrificing performance.
The 2014 Kawasaki ZX-14R is powered by the most massively powerful motorcycle engine Kawasaki has ever produced, a 1,441 cc four-stroke, liquid-cooled, DOHC, four valve per cylinder, inline-four engine which is linked to a 6-speed gearbox, providing 200 Hp at 10,000 RPM (210 Hp with Ram air-filter) and 162.5 Nm of torque at 7500 RPM. The hyperbike weighs 268-kg and has a 22-litre fuel tank.
The base model is available in Flat Ebony/Ebony and is priced at $15,299 (€11,530), while the 2014 Kawasaki ZX-14R ABS version is offered in Golden Blazed Green/Metallic Spark Black, Candy Burnt Orange/Metallic Spark Black and Flat Ebony/Ebony.
