2013 Aprilia SRV850 To Arrive in Australia in June

Aussie maxi scooter enthusiasts, get ready for Aprilia’s largest capacity scooter, the 2013 Aprilia SRV850. First unveiled at the 2011 EICMA show in Milan, the SRV850 maxi scooter is based on the Gilera GP 800, which also part of the Piaggio Group. The 2013 Aprilia SRV850 will be available in Australia in June for $15,990 (off the road).

The 2013 Aprilia SRV850 is powered by a 90-degree V two cylinder, liquid cooled, scooter engine in a lightweight rigid trellis frame, with a displacement of 839.3cc, an electronic injection and engine control system, developing 75 hp at 7750 rpm and a maximum torque of 56.3 ft-lb. at 6000 rpm, making it become the most powerful maxi scooter in the world. The SRV850 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.7 sec.

Moreover, the Aprilia SRV850 also can be had with Anti-lock braking systems (ABS), and traction control that offers two-stage adjustment and deactivation.

Aprilia SRV 850 has racing design, and its double cradle frame is made of steel trellis with reinforcing and rigidity plates. Although the frame is extremely sturdy, it weighs only 22 kg. Overall dry weight of the Aprilia SRV850 is 250kg. Aprilia even claims the SRV 850 has “a coefficient of stability at full power similar to a motorcycle (1 rad/sec) and almost twice as high as a conventional scooter. Its suspension consists of a hydraulic shock absorber that is anchored through leverage, mounted laterally in a horizontal position, along with spring seven-position preload adjustment, and a large 41 mm for. The maxi scooter sits on lightweight cast wheels (16-inch at the front and 15-inch on the rear) wrapped in radial tyres (120/70 at the front and 160/60 on the driving wheel), complete with Brembo twin 300mm disc at the front and 280 mm steel disc at the rear.
