2013 Husqvarna TR650 Models Hit Australian Showrooms

Husqvarn finally has launched 650-class motorcycles, the 2013 Husqvarna TR650 Terra and 2013 Husqvarna TR650 Strada, in Australia. Both the dual-sport TR650 Terra and the street-only TR650 Strada are now available from 29 of Husqvarna’s 52 showrooms nationwide, with a starting price tag of $8995 and $9995, respectively.

Numerous genuine Husqvarna special parts and accessories such as high windshield, aluminium off-road footpegs, heated grips, top case and hard side bags, etc also will be available. In addition, there will be an optional ‘city kit’ and ‘touring kit’.

The 2013 Husqvarna TR650 Terra is available in red/white colors, while the TR650 Strada comes in black/white only. In Australia, the TR650 Terra  features a switchable anti-lock braking system (ABS), low front mudguard, and sits on 19/17-inch cast wheels wrapped in Metzeler Enduro III tyres (110/80-19 front, 140/80-18 rear) instead of Terra’s 21/18-inch spoked hoops with Pirelli Scorpion MT 90 A/T rubber (90/90-21 M/C 54S front and 140/80-18 M/C 70S rear) which can be found in the TR650 Strada.

Other differences between the Terra and Strada are that the dual-sport Terra has 5mm higher seat (865mm), 2kg lighter unleaden DIN, one degree steeper steering head angle (63-degree) than the Strada’s. The 2013 Husqvarna TR650 Terra with the same G 650 GS engine as Strada has a top speed of 170km/h, which is 5km/h less than the Strada’s however.

Both TR650s come standard with LAMS-approved but also can be purchased in derestricted form by full licence holders. An industry-standard 24-month/unlimited-km parts as well as labour warranty are also included as standard. The LAMS-approved versions boast 48hp at 7250rpm and a torque of 54Nm at 5750rpm, while the derestricted non-LAMS variants are good for 58hp and 60Nm.
