Husqvarna Motorcycles makes its return to the street segment by unveiling three new street models, the all-new 701 Supermoto and the two clean concept bikes with the finest characteristics, the 401 Vitpilen and 401 Svartpilen.
The 2015 Husqvarna 701 Supermoto is a 340-pound street legal bike powered by a liquid-cooled 690cc single engine with a 102.0mm bore and a 84.5mm stroke, developing 67 hp at 7,500 rpm and 50 pound-feet of torque 6,000 rpm. The 2015 701 Supermoto is equipped with an APTC slipper clutch, electric starter, 4.2-gallon fuel tank, ABS, the most advanced WP suspension and the latest ride-by-wire throttle control with three riding modes (Standard, Soft, and Advanced) that are selectable via a switch under the bike’s long seat.
In Europe, the 2015 Husqvarna 701 Supermoto is expected to be available in summer 2015.
Unlike the 701 Supermoto, both the 401 Vitpilen and 401 Svartpilen are still a concep bike.
The Husqvarna 401 Vitpilen (means ‘White Arrow’ in Swedish). Inspired from the 1953 Husqvarna Silverpilen streetbike designed by Sixten Sason, the 401 Vitpilen sports an attractive, cutting-edge and clean design, combined with contemporary technology and high-quality hardware.
Meanwhile, the Husqvarna 401 Svartpilen (means ‘Black Arrow’ in Swedish) looks more badass than the 401 Vitpilen. Inspired from the old scramblers, this concept bike is “A golden-age inspired modern streetbike” covered in dark color with motocross-style handlebar and a LED headlight with protective guard.
No word on details about the 401 Vitpilen and 401 Svartpilen. Husqvarna only revealed that the both concepts bike are powered by a lightweight and powerful single-cylinder liquid-cooled, four-stroke engine.
