Honda America has officially announced that it will offer the new Honda Forza scooter for American buyers. The 2014 Honda Forza was actually first unveiled at the 2012 EICMA show for the European and Canadian markets. Powered by the 279cc engine, the Forza is expected to fill a gap in Honda‘s U.S. scooter lineup between the 153cc Honda PCX150 and SH150i and the big brother 582cc Honda Silver Wing.
The Forza scooter sports a 279cc, liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine with Honda’s Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI) system and features a CVT Automatic Transmission. American Honda did not reveal any performance numbers, but the European-spec model is good for 25.5 hp at 7500 rpm and 19.2 ft-lb. at 5000 rpm, with a fuel economy of 68 mpg. The Forza scooter has a 3.0-gallon fuel tank positioned in the body behind the front wheel, this means the scooter could translate to a range of about 204 miles.
The Honda Forza scooter offers seating for two. It has stepped seating, a low 28.2-inch seat with large storage under it (enough for two full-face helmets), as well as additional storage in the dash equipped with a 12-volt power outlet for charging phones and other electronic devices.
The new scooter rides on a 14-inch wheel in front and 13-inch wheel in the back. The wheels come equipped with a 256mm disc up front and a 240mm disc at the rear, all of which are gripped by twin-piston calipers with Honda’s Combined Braking System as standard and Combined ABS as option. The Honda Forza scooter weighs 422 pounds.
The 2014 Honda Forza will hit U.S. showrooms in July. It will be available in Pearl Red and will be priced at $5,599, while the ABS version will set you back $6,099.
