2014 Honda CRF250M Supermoto Announced for Europe

Honda is planning to bring the Honda CRF250M Supermoto (or Motard) to Europe. The new Honda CRF250M is an “affordable” supermoto based on the populardual-purpose Honda CRF250L, with revised suspension, uprated front brake, and a new set of 17-inch wheels with wider road tires.

The 2014 Honda CRF250M combines tough performance credentials, excellent fuel economy, with a bold style aimed to appeal to the young rider looking for something different.

Like the CRF250L, the Honda CRF250M is powered by a liquid-cooled 250cc DOHC single-cylinder engine generating 22.8 hp at 8500 rpm and 16.2 ft-lb. of torque at 7000 rpm, thanks its short stroke (76.0mm bore x 55.0mm stroke). The engine is mated to 6-speed gearbox with slightly taller ratios compared to the 250L, and comes with PGM-FI injection system with 36mm throttle bore to ensure combustion efficiency. The engine is claimed delivers 34.0km/L, giving close to 250km range from the bike’s 7.7 litre fuel tank.

The 2014 Honda CRF250M features steel twin oval-section frame, semi-double cradle, aluminium swingarm, 43mm Showa USD fork at the front in a black Alumite surface finish, Pro-Link suspension (Showa monoshock) at the back with heavier springs, and a seat height of 33.6 inches. Designed more for street use, the CRF250M rides on a new set of 17-inch wheels (17 x 2.75 front and 17 x 3.50 rear) equipped with a 296mm floating front disc with twin-piston calipers, and 220mm rear disc with single-piston caliper.

The 2014 Honda CRF250M will be available in two color options: Extreme Red and Black with gold rims.
