Here’s the newest monster, the 2015 Ducati Monster 821. This new mid-size entry for the third generation of Ducati’s iconic naked model shares all the high-tech features of the Monster 1200, but with less displacement.
The 2015 Ducati Monster 821 is powered by Ducati’s proven 821 Testastretta 11° engine that provides 112 horsepower and a very consistent and smooth torque curve peaking at 65.9 ft/lb. With the compact naked styling it has, the 2015 Ducati Monster 821 weighs only 395.7lb (Dry).
Like its 1200 sibling, the Monster 821 has the same styling characteristics and a monocoque-trellis frame that sources the engine as stressed member, but it comes with a standard rear swingarm instead of the single-sided found on the Monster 1200.
Other features include an innovative adjustable seat height, 8-level traction control, 3-level ABS and 3-level Ride-by-Wire pre-set riding modes, cast aluminum wheels shod with Pirelli Diablo Rosso tires, as well as high-spec brakes and adjustable suspension.
The 2015 Ducati Monster 821 will hit dealerships in July this year, and it will be available in two versions and three different colors: Ducati Red, with red frame and black wheels; Star White Silk, with red frame and red matte wheels; and a Dark Stealth version with black frame and wheels. In the U.S., the Monster Dark version is set at $10,995, while the Red and Star White Silk version is priced at $11,495.
