2014 Kawasaki KLR650 New Edition

At the New York International Motorcycle Show, Kawasaki has unveiled the 2014 model year of its most popular dual-sport motorcycle, the Kawasaki KLR650. Dubbed the 2014 Kawasaki KLR650 New Edition, the dual-sport mechine is still powered by the same carbureted 651cc, four-stroke, DOHC, four-valve single engine mated to a five-speed transmission as the previous model, and receives minor upgrades, such as a new suspension and graphics.

The 2014 Kawasaki KLR650 New Edition comes with new springs for both front and rear suspension. Its upgraded 41mm fork with 7.9 inches of travel now features new 40% firmer springs and 27% firmer rebound damping, while the Uni-Trak linkage suspension at rear offers 7.3 inches of travel and now features new spring and rebound damping with a 63% and 83% higher rate, respectively, besides offering five positions of preload adjustment and rebound damping with four levels of tuning.

The Kawasaki KLR650 New Edition also gets new multi-contour dimpled seat that are narrower and more-tapered at the front, as well as revised graphics to make the bike look fresh and new.

All the other features are same as the old model. The 2014 Kawasaki KLR650 New Edition has a large 6.1-gallon fuel tank, broad fairing, and the break system consist of a two-piston front caliper with a single 280mm petal-type disc and a single-piston rear caliper with 240mm disc. The 2014 KLR650 has a curb weight of 432 pounds, the same as the previous model.

The 2014 Kawasaki KLR650 New Edition is available in three different colors: Candy Lime Green/Ebony, Metallic Flat Raw Graystone/Ebony, and Pearl Stardust White/Ebony.
