Revealed alongside the 2014 Triumph Thunderbird LT at the 2013 EICMA is the 2014 Triumph Thunderbird Commander. The 2014 Triumph Thunderbird Commander is a new variant to Triumph’s Thunderbird family.
Like the Triumph Thunderbird LT, the Commander is powered by the same 1699cc liquid-cooled parallel-Twin engine with a 270-degree crank which provides 93 hp at 5400rpm and an impressive 111 ft-lb. at 3550 rpm. Most of the Commander remains the same as the Triumph Thunderbird LT. At 767 pounds, the 2014 Triumph Thunderbird Commander is 20 pounds havier than the standard Thunderbird. The Commander comes equipped with a 140/75 ZR17 front tire and a 200/50 ZR17 rear tire.
Like the Triumph Thunderbird LT, the Commander also features a coded key immobilizer, canceling indicators and a 5.8 gallon (22 liter) fuel tank with off-center filler cap, tank-mounted dash consoles with an analogue speedometer, and an LCD display with fuel gauge (including range-to-empty), odometer, twin trips, and clock functions.
