Peugeot has unveiled the 2016 model year of its iconic Speedfight 50cc scooter was first launched in 1997. The 2016 Peugeot Speedfight 4 is expected to hit the UK dealerships this summer, and will be priced at £1899 OTR.
For 2016, the fourth generation of Speedfight gets a new look, a new engine and higher specification. Inspired by the Peugeot Exalt concept car, the 2016 Speedfight comes with twin optical 35W headlights, separated by the distinctive grille, restyled instrument console, micro bulb crystal turn indicators, and aviation-style fuel cap. The dashboard now is equipped with USB and 12V sockets and a RAM X-Grip smartphone holder, plus features an on-board digital multifunction computer.
The Speedfight 4 will be offered in two engine choices, and three color options for the standard model – flat red, blue France, and fluo apple green – and three color choices for the special model – Darkside, Iceblade, and Pure. The standard models are powered by an air-cooled 50cc 2-stroke engine with new Dell’Orto carburettor delivering 3.8 horsepower (2.8 kW), while the special models sport a new 50cc liquid-cooled 2-stroke engine generating 5% more power and 15% more torque than the previous model – 4.8 horsepower (3.6 kW).
Braking duties on the specia models are handled by a Ø 215 mm Shuricane front disc with radial calliper and dual piston, with a Ø 190 mm Shuricane disc at the rear, while the standard versions with a Ø 215 mm shuricane radial calliper disc brake up front, with a Ø 110 mm drum at the rear.
