Suzuki has unveiled the 2016 model year of its Off-Road Lineup, staring the Suzuki RM-Z250, RM-Z450 and RM85 motocrossers, the DR-Z125L dirtbike and the entry-level DR-Z70 youth model.
The 2016 Suzuki RM-Z250 gets major updates including a new frame, all-new KYB PSF2 suspension, new brakes and more-than eighty redesigned internal engine parts. Furthermore, the RM-Z250 now features Suzuki’s launch control platform called Suzuki Holeshot Assist Control (S-HAC), which was first was first introduced on the RM-Z450 in 2014.
The Suzuki Holeshot Assist Control (S-HAC) allows riders to choose the best option (A mode, B mode, and normal mode) for the starting conditions via a simple push button on the left handlebar. Compared to the old model, the newly revised frame is 2.5% lighter.
For suspension, the 2016 Suzuki RM-Z250 uses KYB’s insted of Showa’s. Up front, the bike gets KYB’s latest PSF2 Air Fork that delivers improved performance, simplified tuning adjustments, and are 1kg lighter than the current model’s front forks. While out back, there is new KYB’s rear shock. Braking duties are handled by a 10%-lighter Nissin brake caliper.
Other features include new piston, piston pin and piston ring, reduced crank inertia, increased Magneto inertia, redesigned camshafts and intake valve, redesigned decompression system, redesigned kick drive gear, breather gear and kick idle gear, redesigned Cam chain tensioner and adjuster, redesigned Crank case, new clutch cover, and new Dunlop tires.
The 2016 Suzuki RM-Z250 is available in a Champion Yellow / Solid Black body. It is priced at $7699.
The 2016 Suzuki RM-Z450 receives minor update for 2016. It only gets a more refined S-HAC system that lets the rider choose one of three modes. Other features remain unchanged.
The 2016 Suzuki RM-Z450 will be offered in Champion Yellow/Solid Black, and it will set you back $8,749.
The 2016 Suzuki RM-85 is unchanged for 2016. It is still powered by a 84.7cc engine mated to a six-speed transmission, and features 37mm Showa fork and Showa rear shock. Available in Champion Yellow for $4,099.
Also returning for 2016 without any changes are the 2016 Suzuki DR-Z125L and the 2016 Suzuki DR-Z70, available for $3,199 and $1,799, respectively.
