San Francisco-based company, Skully, has proudly unveiled its new motorcycle helmet called the Skully AR-1  (AR stands for Augmented Reality). Touted as the world’s first augmented reality motorbike helmets, the Skully AR-1 was first introduced on Indiegogo in August, and has met its original $250,000 funding goal in the first eight minutes.

The Skully AR-1 is equipped with the first a voice-controlled heads-up display (HUD) system available for a motorbike helmet providing rear and side view camera (with a 180 degree field of view), GPS instructions with two map versions available, motorycle data (an accelerometer, a thermometer, a gyroscope, and a compass), plus it has a trick visor that tints electronically and bluetooth connectivity that allows you to connect to your smartphone.

The Skully AR-1 smart motorcycle helmet is available for pre-order as an exclusive holiday offering now. The exclusive holiday pre-order campaign starts on December 8, 2014 and will end January 8, next year. Customers who purchase the Skully AR-1 helmet during the campaign will get a set of FREE limited edition Skully holiday card and dog tag.

The Skully AR-1 motorbike helmet is priced at $1499, with first deliveries scheduled for July 2015. Sizes available in S-XXL, and colors in Matte Black or Gloss White.
