Yamaha Motor Canada has announced its plan to unveil a new variant of its 50cc Zuma scooter, called the Yamaha Zuma X.
The 2014 Yamaha Zuma X is based on the popular Zuma 50F (BW’s50F), but distinguished by few styling changes including single headlight instead of the dual bug lights found on the BWS and the sportier looking race-inspired hand grips.
Like the BWS 50 which is also available as a 2014 model, the 2014 Yamaha Zuma X is powered by the same 49cc, liquid-cooled, SOHC, three-valve, fuel injected, four-stroke engine with a 3 ft-lb. of torque at 6500 rpm and an incredible 129 mpg. Both 2014 Zuma X and 2014 BWS 50 are equipped with a 26mm front fork that provides 58mm of wheel travel and a single shock unit swingarm rear suspension with 56mm of wheel travel, while braking prosess is provided by a 180mm wave-style disc up front combined with the rear drum brake to provide serious stopping power.
The 2014 Yamaha Zuma X has stylish clear turn signal lenses, extra long rear fender extension, side reflectors, a 4.5-liter fuel tank, a spacious 23-liter lockable under seat storage, plus handy front mounted storage pocket and front mounted folding hook which provides additional convenience for bags or handbags.
The 2014 Yamaha Zuma X will be offered in Deep Purplish Metallic Blue and White or Metallic Black and Yellow. The 2014 Zuma X is schedulled to arrive in Canadian dealerships in December with a price of CN$2,899, while the 2014 Yamaha BW’s 50 will be available in Matte Titan and Vivid Metallic Yellowish Red, each is priced at CN$2,699.
