Italian Company, Dainese, that specializes in protective wear (such as helmet, jacket, etc) for sports. Earlier this year, the company has unveiled its D-air Racing suit, and today, Dainese has announced that the company is working to create the road-going version of the system. This road-going version which called D-air Street is currently undergoing TÜV SÜD certification and will be available in mid-2012.
Dainese D-air Street System is designed for use on public roads. It consist of the ‘Motorcycle Kit’ (MKit) and outer waistcoat or jacket, which has the two airbags, both with a volume of 12 litres. The MKit is fitted to the motorcycle and features a set of accelerometers- mounted under the seat and on the front forks. Other features include fall sensor and two cold batery-powered automotive-type gas generators.
Dainese D-air Street System povides the rider with a system for monitoring the status of the rider/pillion D-air unit. It protects the rider’s vital organs, neck and top half of his/ her body from impact.
Dainese D-air Street System is available in three garment styles, an outer waistcoat, gore-tex jacket and a textile jacket, which has removable sleeves for all-round use. Each also comes with airbag system, a fitted back protector, with removable shoulder and elbow protection, excluding the waistcoat. Standard features include removable thermal liners, outside pockets and adjustable waistbands.
