Boucherville-based company, Campagna Motors have introduced its latest three-wheeled creation, the 2013 Campagna T-Rex 16S.
The 2013 Campagna T-Rex 16S joins Campagna’s current lineup, the street legal Kawasaki-powered T-Rex 14R and 14RR, as well as the Harley-Davidson-powered V13R. The T-Rex 16S is based on the same three-wheeled roadster designed by Montrealer Paul Deutschman which was first introduced in 1994, but it benefit from BMW Motorrad’s BMW 1649 cc in-line 6-cylinder engine.
The T-Rex 16S’s in-line 6-cylinder engine is larger than Kawasaki’s 1400 cc inline cylinder engine that powers the existing T-Rex V14R. Although there’s no word on official numbers, the engine is good for 160 hp at 7,750 rpm and 129 lb-ft of torque at 5,250 rpm in the BMW K 1600 GT motorcycle. Fyi, the Kawasaki’s tiny 1400 cc inline cylinder engine on the T-Rex 14R and 14RR delivers 197 hp and 113lb-ft of torque, while the Harley-Davidson’s Liquid-cooled Revolution 60-degree V-Twin engine (the same engine used in the HD V-Rod) on the V13R only generates 122 hp and 84 lb-ft of torque.
In the T-Rex 16S, the engine delivers power by chain drive through a six-speed sequential transmission to the single 295-millimeter rear tire, with two outboard wheels up front to steer.
The 2013 Campagna T-REX 16S features marine-grade waterproof seats, cross-drilled brake, rotors, removable side cases for luggage, 3-point safety belts, an 180 W RMS Alpine audio system complete with Sirius satellite radio and iPod, USB and Bluetooth connectivity.
The Campagna T-REX 16S comes in a variety of colors and is available for pre-order now, with first deliveries expected to begin in June. For further details of the T-Rex 16S here.
