The energy drinks giant, Monster Energy has signed a sponsorship agreement for two-year with Yamaha Factory Racing. With this agreement, we will see Monster’s luminous green claw mark logo visible on the fairings of the Yamaha YZR-M1 race bikes and apparel, as well as racing leathers of Yamaha riders Jorge Lorenzo and the seven times MotoGP Champion Valentino Rossi in 2013 and 2014.
Monster Energy who already had a personal sponsorship deal with Valentino Rossi will now also sponsor Lorenzo. The sponsorship deal with Monster Energy is believed to be in the region of €4 million (about $5.2 million)
Speaking about the new deal, Lin Jarvis, Managing Director of Yamaha Motor Racing said “We are very happy to be able to announce the start of a new chapter in the Yamaha – Monster Energy partnership. Monster Energy is already a major partner to Yamaha’s top global sports activities in many domestic and international racing activities around the world in Motocross, Supercross, Endurance and Superbike disciplines”
‘They have also been the title sponsor of the Monster Energy Tech 3 Yamaha team for the past 4 years. The expansion to include the Yamaha Factory Racing MotoGP Team is a logical and prestigious expansion of the program.’ He added.
