BRP, the maker of the Can-Am Spyder roadster has unveiled the new Spyder ST. Joining Can-Am’s Roadster lineup, the new three-wheel motorcycle is available three trim levels: ST, ST-S and ST Limited. The new sport-touring model represents a middle ground between the sport Can-Am Spyder RS and the touring Can-Am Spyder RT.
The Spyder ST combines the performance you long for with the comfort and convenience you need. It is powered by 998cc Rotax V-Twin engine, liquid-cooled with electronic fuel injection and electronic throttle control, and features ample storage (44 L/12 gallons), adjustable windshield with wind deflectors, adjustable passenger footboards, sport touring seat, a Digitally Encoded Security System (D.E.S.S.), multifunction color digital display, Vehicle Stability System and Roadster electronic command center. The standard Spyder ST comes with metallic silver front rims with twin-spokes.
The Can-Am Spyder ST-S variant adds 15-inch carbon-black front rims with twin-blade spokes, refined front fenders with integrated LED lights, rider footboards (w/ SE5 transmission only), carbon-black trim, electronic cruise control and painted A-arm and front spoiler. The ST-S is available in pure magnesium metallic and circuit yellow metallic colors.
The Can-Am Spyder ST Limited sits on 12-spoke chrome front wheels and gets chrome trim. The limited model also features AM/FM audio system with iPod cable, Garmin Zumo 660 GPS with Bluetooth capability, Removable Saddlebag kit with color-matched panels, Embroidered Spyder ST Limited seat, rider heated grips, front cargo liner and 12V power outlet. The Can-Am Spyder ST Limited is available in two different colors: blackcurrant and pearl white.
Pricing for U.S. models is $18,899 for the base Spyder ST with manual transmission, and $20,399 for the SE5 semi-automatic transmission, the ST-S model with manual transmission costs $20,099, while the SE5 is $21,799, and the Limited variant, which is only linked with the SE5 transmission, retails for $24,599.
All 2013 model Spyders are compatible with the optional RT-622 trailer and feature a new chassis, along with revised suspension, increased rigidity, new front fenders, 15-inch wheels with low-profile tires with new Brembo calipers, and can be equipped with ABS system.
