To honor the great Marco Simoncelli, AVG has revealed a new updated version of its GP-Tech Marco Simoncelli Tribute Helmet modeled after the lid that Marco Simoncelli wore during his MotoGP years. The company also added a open-faced model.
The updated version has the following features that the GP-Tech Marco Simoncelli tribute helmet first edition was missing: Number 58 instead of number 1, San Carlo logo on the chin guard, Dainese logo on top of the helmet shell, and a small heart graphic in the colors of the Japanese flag that Simoncelli had added in memory of the devasting Tohoku earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan in March of 2011.
The updated GP-Tech Marco Simoncelli tribute helmet is for 749 euros (US$971), with a dedicated t-shirt is included.
While the open-faced model, the Bali Copter Special Simoncelli Tribute helmet, features a pilot-style visor with aluminum-finish side plates, vintage effect leather and soft lining. The Bali Copter Special Simoncelli sells retails for a much lower 149 euros (US$193).
