German motorcycle manufacturer Horex has unveiled a new Cafe Racer style version of its VR6 Roadster. The Horex VR6 Cafe Racer 33 Ltd shares the same 1218cc engine as the original VR6 Roadster and the VR6 Classic, but it receives a host of cosmetic changes.
The 1218cc narrow-angle V6 engine comes with three camshafts and three valves per cylinder in a radial configuration, all working in synch to deliver 125 hp at 8500 rpm and 88.5 ft-lb. at 7000 rpm – the same as the Classic’s numbers, but decreased from the Roadster’s 158 hp and 101 ft-lb. Read more
German motorcycle manufacturer Horex has introduced the 2014 Horex VR6 Classic, nearly a year after the first deliveries of its VR6 Roadster.
The VR6 Classic was first showed as concept at Cologne’s 2012 Intermot show. Just like the first model, the Horex VR6 Classic styling was created by a freelance industrial designer with motorcycle experience, Peter Naumann. “The Horex VR6 Classic pays a tribute to the legendary bikes originally built in Bad Homburg,” says Naumann. German Company Horex has announced it has delayed series production of its VR6 Roadster. It says that the V6-engined roadster is going to go into production at the end of May 2012, because of the late addition of a secondary air injection system (SAIS) which reduces exhaust gas emissions by injecting fresh air from the intake manifold into the engine’s exhaust ports.
