Honda has finally announced the official technical details and picures of the 2016 Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin that is scheduled to arrive in the Europe in late 2015 and US in early 2016.
The 2016 Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin is equipped for true adventure, with a potent engine and dynamic chassis. It will be powered by a 998cc parallel twin engine with a 270-degree crankshaft, providing 70kW power and 98Nm torque.
For suspension, the CRF1000L Africa Twin uses Showa’s fork and shock that are fully adjustable. Braking duties handled by twin 310mm brake discs at the front with radial-mount 4-piston Nissin calipers and 256mm wave hydraulic disc at rear with 2-piston caliper. The bike sits on the 21-inch (front) and 18-inch (rear) wheels that are wrapped in 90/90 (front) and 150/70 (rear) tires.
Honda also offers some optional features such as a new DCT, switchable ABS and multi-mode HSTC for optimal traction both off and on-road. The new 6-speed DCT dual-clutch transmission has two automatic mdes – D and S, with 3 shift patterns (S1, S2 and S3). The HSTC traction control system (Honda’s Selectable Torque Control) offers the rider three levels of control, with ability to shut off ABS to the rear wheel.
TheĀ 2016 Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin will be available in four colors: CRF Rally, Tricolour, Silver and Black.
