Triumph has unveiled two new special edition naked bikes, the 2015 Triumph Speed 94 and the 2015 Triumph Speed 94 R, paying tribute to Triumph’s iconic Speed Triple bike that was first unveiled in 1994.
Visually, both new bikes feature styling cues taken from the original 1994 Speed Triple and come in two new color options: Racing Yellow and Menacing Jet Black, with original Speed Triple decals, a special ’94’ plaque on the tank and logo with the handwriting design, as well as blacked-out parts. A special yellow pin striping is also available for the yellow color option.
Under the hood, the 2015 Triumph Speed 94 and 94 R are powered by the same 1050cc triple-cylinder injected engine as the current Triple model. The powerplant which is mounted in the signature aluminium tube trellis frame has a total output of 135 hp at 9,400 rpm and a torque of 81.8ft-lb at 7,750 rpm. The original 1994 Speed Triple’s engine only produces 96 hp and 54ft-lb of torque.
The 2015 Triumph Speed 94 features 43mm upside-down Showa forks and a monoshock rear, Brembo radial calipers and ABS. Meanwhile, the 2015 Triumph Speed 94 R gets Brembo Monobloc radial brake calipers with ABS, Pirelli Supercorsa SP tyres, as well as fully-adjustable Öhlins NIX30 43mm forks and Öhlins TTX36 rear shock just like the higher-spec Speed Triple R model.
The 2015 Triumph Speed 94 and 94 R will be available from April for £9,749 and £10,999, respectively.
