BMW Motorrad has updated its liquid-cooled BMW R1200GS with new optional features, including the Shift Assistant Pro and ‘Keyless Ride’ system. The Shift Assistant Pro technology upshifts and downshifts without operation of the clutch or throttle valve – cruise control is disabled when using the Shift Assistant Pro. The ‘Keyless Ride’ system that replaces the conventional ignition lock is similar to Ducati Diavel’s keyless start.
The 2015 BMW R1200GS Adventure also receives the new options mentioned above as well as a lowered suspension (890/910mm as standard) and new choices to lower the seat height by 30mm – even by a further 20mm when seat from R 1200 GS is fitted.
Besides those new options, the flangship BMW R1200GS also gets the heavier crankshaft which debuted on the 2014 BMW R1200RT, to further enhance engine smoothness.
New color options are available as well, including Alpine white, Black storm metallic, and Frozen dark blue metallic.
Meanwhile, the tourer of the BMW boxer range, the BMW R1200RT for 2015 only gets a new two-tone San Marino blue metallic/Granite grey metallic matte.
