BMW Motorrad has announced a series of updates for its luxury touring bikes, the K1600GT and K1600GTL. For the 2015 model year, the Company has equipped both K1600GT and K1600GTL with Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) as standard feature, as well as some new optional add-ons and new paint finishes.
The Dynamic Traction Control system which was available as as part of BMW’s factory-installed Safety Package option last year and becomes standard on the 2015 model, helps incrase safety when accelerating. The rest of the Safety Package option including daytime riding light and Hill Start Control will still be available.
The 2015 BMW K1600GT and the 2015 BMW K1600GTL are now also come standard with the instrument panel of the K 1600 GTL Exclusive featuring new scales and chrome surfaces. Also new for 2015 is a Keyless Ride that “enables the steering lock, fuel tank can and storage compartments to be locked and unlocked without using a key”. The Keyless Ride remote system is available as option (standard on Australian models).
The 2015 BMW K1600GT will be available in new Black storm metallic and new paint finish Light white, replacing the previous paint finishes: Dark graphite metallic and Montego blue metallic.
The 2015 BMW K1600GTL will be offered in new Black storm metallic and new Glacier silver metallic colors, replacing the previous paint finishes: Dark graphite metallic and Damask red metallic.
Unfortunately, there’s still no word on U.S. pricing and availability at the moment.
