This year at the EICMA show, Moto Guzzi has presented the 2014 model year of its V7 line up, consisting of the 2014 V7 Stone, 2014 V7 Special and 2014 V7 Racer. The three models with their famous 1970s-inspired style get several upgrades focused in “three fundamental pillars: the 90° transverse V-twin, the timeless double cradle frame and the renowned cardan shaft final drive.”
The 750c engine on the 2014 V7 models now uses a new, wet flywheel instead of the previous dry alternator, and now comes with a compact, more streamlined new cover. The V7 models also get color and trim material upgrades, but chassis, suspension, and other components remain mechanically unchanged.
The 2014 Moto Guzzi V7 Stone gets black color treatments on its side panels, dampers, mirrors, fenders and wheels, while the exhaust and stoplight enclosure are shinning in chrome. Furthermore, the tank now can be had in “Rosso Corposo” Red, “Verde Agata” Green, or “Nero Ruvido” black.
The 2014 Moto Guzzi V7 Special now is offered in metallic silver with black strips and black with orange strips. The right and left side of the tank features a historic embossed Moto Guzzi eagle, and the rims of the spoke wheels now are black rather than chromium plated. Furthermore, the V7 Special has a guard on the fork stanchions instead of the dust gaiters of the Stone and the Racer.
The 2014 Moto Guzzi V7 Racer introduced at the 2013 EICMA show is the limited edition model. The third edition of the V7 Racer looks so stunning with its black, red, and chrome color combination. The mirrors, side panels, silencer support brackets and foot-rest guards of the retro-look bike are now finished in black, while the the frame, swingarm and spoked wheel hubs are stay in red. The number “7” on the top fairing and tail fairing is now chromium plated instead of white. Adding a dramatic contrast is the shiny chromium-plated 22 litre fuel tank.
Also new for the 2014 Moto Guzzi V7 Racer is the single-seater saddle which is covered in “alcantara and imitation leather of the same colour.” The customised leather tank strap is also color matched.
Moto Guzzi also announced a range of factory accessories that are available for the V7 range, including single seat exhaust brackets kit, Bitubo shock absorbers kit, a slip-on racing exhaust kit from Arrow, touring windshield kit, side panniers kit, gel comfort seat, luggage rack kit, brushed aluminium side fairings kit and so on.
