Yamaha Tricity is Yamaha’s all new LMW (Leaning Multi Wheel) machine, aimed to attract a wide range of users specifically for non-scooter riders who are looking for an alternative to public transport.

Unveiled at the 2013 EICMA show in Milan earlier this month, this new three-wheeled scooter concept has multi-leaning wheel mechanism and compact, light and agile 3-wheel design, and it is powered by an economical 125cc liquid-cooled 4-stroke engine with CVT transmission.

The Yamaha Tricity offers the best balance between performance, weight and low running costs, which Yamaha even claims it is more agile than other manufacturers’ trike scooters. Moreover, the Yamaha Tricity weighs ‘approximately’ only 330.6 pounds (dry), making it 224,4 pounds lighter than the Piaggio 125cc MP3. It has a lenght of 75 inches, a wide of 28.9 inches and a height of 47.8 inches.

The Yamaha Tricity showed in the EICMA is a prototype concept model and “ Yamaha is investigating mass production of this type of vehicle”. The 2014 Yamaha Tricity will arrive on the selected market by the summer of 2014. At this time, it is only slated for release in Europe. No word yet on pricing.
