As well as announced the 2012 NC700X and the production version of the Crosstourer concept, Honda is also announcing the new Honda NC700S at EICMA 2012. The 2012 Honda NC700S is the new mid-sized naked standard motorcycle from Honda that is powered by liquid-cooled 670cc parallel-twin engine just like the Integra motorcycle/ scooter crossover and the NC700X.
According to Honda, the engine produces 46.9 hp at 6250 rpm and 44.3 ft-lb. at 4750 rpm, while getting 63.5 mpg. Designed to be fuel efficient and to be lightweight (it weighs 500 lb), Honda also claims, with a 3.7 gallon tank, the Honda NC700S should get a range of about 235 miles on a full tank of petrol. The engine is mated with a conventional six-speed manual transmission, and also available an optional Honda’s second-generation Dual Clutch Transmission which is lighter and more compact, as well as Honda’s Combined Antilock Braking System (C-ABS). Other features include handlebar-mounted controls that can make the DCT can be operated in fully automatic mode as well as offers the option of shifting gears manually.
2012 Honda NC700S has a 31.1-inch seat height, 27-degree steering range of rake, 4.3 inch of trail, a 60.0-inch wheelbase as well as 120/70-17 and 160/60-17 tires.
