Honda has launched the V-Twin sportsbikes for the Japanese market only, the 2013 Honda VTR-F250 and the 2013 Honda VTR250. Both bikes boast the same 250cc V-twin DOHC, liquid cooling, four stroke, fuel injection engine that generates 29.5 Hp at 10500 rpm and peak torque of 22Nm at 8500 rpm (more than 16 lb-ft). The engine is mated to a five speed manual gearbox.
The 2013 Honda VTR250 is a naked bike that a bit more expensive than the Honda CBR250R due to its V-Twin engine, making it has more power and torque than CBR250R. Although, the VTR250 is not fitted with Honda’s C-ABS braking technology.
For 2013, Honda also launched the partially-faired model of the VTR250 called the VTR-F250. The 2013 Honda VTR-F250 receives a half-fairing design and comes with a Y-shaped multi-reflector headlight instead of VTR250’s conventional circular headlight. Another difference is the instrument cluster, the VTR-F250 gets new analogue tachometer with an amber-backlit LCD screen, while the VTR naked version comes equipped with dual analog dials with smaller inset LCD screens.
Both VTR-F250 and VTR250 feature 30-inch seat height, dual-piston disc brakes, and sit on 140/70-17 rear and 110/70-17 front wheels. They also use the same 41mm telescopic forks that offers 130mm of travel and a rear monoshock with 120mm of travel, but come with new settings revised for 2013.
At 362 pounds, the VTR-F250 is havier than the VTR250 (355 pounds). The 2013 Honda VTR250 will be available in Magna Red, Pearl White, and Graphite Black for 567,000 Japanese yen (US$6080) while the 2013 Honda VTR-F250 will come in Pearl and Sunbeam White and Pearl Cosmic Black with red frames, priced at 588,000 yen (US$6305).
