Michelin has introduced its new big trail tire called the Michelin Anakee III, which designed to provide all the safety and off road capability big trail motorcycle users demand.
The Michelin Anakee III is the replacement for the Brand’s Anakee II. It features a new silica tread compound yields that more mileage compared to the Anakee II (about 20 percent longer), innovative tread pattern with bevel-cut central sipes. The Michelin Anakee III big trail tire also provides amazing stability and rider feedback even with a passenger and luggage, thanks to its new high-rigidity casing.
Other features include indented tread grooves and excellent wet traction. Its distinctive tread pattern pulls water away from the contact patch that is 10 degrees wider than with the previous series when cornering at a 30 degree angle.
Michelin and BMW have worked together to co-develop this dual-sport tire – where most of the new 2013 BMW R 1200 GSs sits on the new Anakee III -. The Michelin Anakee III will also be available as a replacement tire option for other dual sport bikes, like the Triumph Tiger, Suzuki V-Strom, Kawasaki KLR, and Yamaha Super Tenere.
