Honda has officially announced that the new CRF250L will be available soon in US, in August 2012, with price start at $4,499.
Street legal and trail capable, the 2013 Honda CRF250L is powered by a liquid-cooled 249cc single-cylinder with dual overhead cams, double-overhead cams, four valves, Honda’s proprietary Programmable Fuel Injection (PGM-FI), a very compact cylinder and a gear-driven counterbalancer. No word on U.S.-spec figures at the moment, but the specs sheet for European and Japanese models have an output of 23 hp at 8500rpm and 16 ft-lb.
The new CRF250L also comes with an upright seating position with a 34.7-inch seat height that’s comfortable for longer rides. The wheelbase is 56.9 inches, and 10 inches for the ground clearance. 2013 Honda CRF250L new dual-sport ride features a steel twin-spar frame, a 43mm inverted fork with 8.7 inches of travel, a preload-adjustable Pro-Link shock with 9.4 in. of travel out back, a single twin-piston caliper/256mm disc combo up front and a single-piston caliper and 220mm disc at the rear for the break systems, a 2.0-gallon tank of fuel, as well as a 21-inch front wheel and 18-inch rear wheel wraped with new-generation Dunlop Geomax MX51 tires.
