At the 2014 EICMA, Yamaha also revealed the limited-edition 2015 Yamaha YZF-R1M.
Like the base 2015 Yamaha YZF-R1 model, the 2015 YZF-R1M is powered by the same CP4-crossplane 998cc inline-four engine, a brand-new six-axis inertial measurement unit, and utilizes Yamaha’s electronics package. The engine is linked to a six-speed multi-plate wet-clutch transmission which now comes with a standard cable-actuated slipper clutch.
The 2015 Yamaha YZF-R1M is distinguished from the regular YZF-R1 model by carbon fiber fairings, Öhlins electronic racing suspension (ERS), a 200-section higher-spec Bridgestone rear tire and a communication control unit (CCU) as standard. With CCU, rider can download riding telemetry and GPS data through wifi.
The 2015 Yamaha YZF-R1M will be available in the USA starting February next year and will come only in Carbon Fiber/Liquid Metal color scheme, with a price tag of $21,990.
